Welcome to the website and online services, including the app CalcMonitor, of the organization CalcMonitor and Tyushun Consulting LLC.
Information collected by the App
User-provided information: When you purchase the App from the Google Play Store you may provide to CalcMonitor what is generally called “personally identifiable information” (such as your full name, e-mail address, postal address, and/or phone number). Furthermore, from time to time CalcMonitor may ask you optionally to provide other information. If you choose to provide this information, during purchase of the App or otherwise, then you are giving CalcMonitor permission to use and store it consistent with this policy.
“Automatically Collected” information: We collect information automatically when you use the Exam Mode feature of the App. The information collected includes your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your name, and the time spent in Exam Mode.
How we use the Information collected by the App
User-provided information: We use the information that you provide or that we collect in order to establish or enhance our relationship with you. We may also use this information to analyze the usage trends and preferences of our Users to improve the App’s features and functionality. We do not share your personally identifiable information with advertisers, third-party organizations, or other entities for their marketing or promotional use without your express consent to opt-in with the exceptions spelled out in the Disclosure section below.
“Automatically Collected” information: As part of the main usage of the App, the purpose of Exam Mode is to enable proctors/teachers to verify that users of the App are using only the calculator in Exam Mode. As such, a report of the User’s activity within Exam Mode is prepared and automatically sent to the e-mail address of the proctor or teacher that is provided by the User of the App. The information you provide on activating Exam Mode is collected by us and transmitted to your designated proctor or teacher. We may also maintain a copy of this information on our servers for some length of time to provide customer assistance and verify the correct operation of our service. We do not share this information with any other third-party organizations without your express consent, with the exceptions spelled out in the Disclosure section below.
Disclosure of Information
Aggregate Information: CalcMonitor discloses aggregate, non-personally-identifiable information to interested third parties for the purpose of demonstrating the usage, viewing, and demographic patterns for certain programs, content, services, advertisements, promotions, and/or functionality of the App.
“Automatically Collected” information: As described above, the information on usage of Exam Mode is automatically collected and transmitted to our servers. This information is sent to the proctor or teacher designated by the User at the start of Exam Mode. This disclosure is part of the functioning of the App, and you consent to have this information sent to the designated proctor or teacher by using Exam Mode.
Required by Law: CalcMonitor may also disclose user information or Exam Mode usage information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with national or international laws (such as copyright laws) or respond to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena, or warrant. In some cases we may be required to make such disclosures without first providing notice to Users.
Merger or Acquisition: In the event that CalcMonitor or its parent company, Tyushun LLC, is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the information that we have collected from Users as part of the merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control of the App or parent company.
Other Purposes: CalcMonitor also reserves the right to disclose User information that we believe, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to take precautions against liability; protect CalcMonitor from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses; to investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations; to assist government enforcement agencies; to protect the security or integrity of the App; or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of CalcMonitor, our Users, or others.
CalcMonitor is educational software and consists of two parts. The monitoring layer of the App is software created by us, while the calculator is powered by GeoGebra, a powerful, open-source, smartphone calculator. The integration is achieved via GeoGebra’s API and other code provided by them to us. As part of our partnership with GeoGebra, we may allow them access to a variety of personal information related to your use of the App and its services. The first time GeoGebra wishes to access your information through the API, you will first be given the option to approve such access to your information. You understand that you may not have subsequent access to certain features or services if you choose not to provide such access to GeoGebra.
